How we work

No surprises. The price and the scope are agreed before we build, you see it working early and often, and we look after it once it is live.

Four steps

  1. 1Discovery

It starts with a free 30 minute call about your business and what is getting in the way. Larger or less well-defined projects then start with paid scoping days, and you keep the written specification whether or not you go ahead with us.

  2. 2Specification

We write down what we will build, what it will cost and how long it will take, and agree it with you before any code is written.

  3. 3Build

We build in stages. You see it working early, on our development environment, and changes are talked through as they come up rather than hidden in the final bill.

  4. 4Host and support

We host it, look after it and keep it current, from the code to the domain, email and backups. You have three months after go-live to raise anything about what we delivered, included.

How pricing works

Every project is priced from its specification, so we do not publish a menu of prices. Two systems that sound alike can be very different underneath.

What drives the cost:

  • How many people use it, and how many different roles they have
  • How many other systems it needs to connect to
  • Whether it needs an app as well as a web system
  • How much data needs moving from your old system, and how clean it is
  • How much of the process has rules and exceptions

You get a fixed figure for the agreed specification before any build work starts.

Frequently asked questions

Who owns the code?

Your data is always yours. Code ownership is agreed per project: you can buy the code outright, or license it and pay less up front. We agree which before we start, so there are no surprises later.

What if we want changes after it goes live?

Anything about what we delivered is covered for three months after go-live. New changes after that are done through a support plan or priced as a small project.

Do you work remotely?

Mostly, yes. We are near Doncaster and work with clients across the UK, including Scotland and London, and we are happy to meet when it helps.

What happens to our system if something happens to IceBubble?

We build on mainstream Microsoft technology that plenty of other developers know, and agree ownership and licensing with you up front, so you know where you stand.

What our clients say

Highly professional

At every stage Paul and his team have been highly professional and have taken very sparse scoping documents and come back with some amazing and innovative ideas.
Ian Harris, Networks and IT Support Specialist, British Board of Film Classification

An almost immediate understanding of our requirements

We had presentations from a number of other suppliers and chose IceBubble due to their almost immediate understanding of our requirements and the recommendation from another long standing and valued NCI supplier.
Graeme Lambert, Senior Manager, NCI Resources

They become invested in your project

Other developers develop exactly what you tell them to develop. IceBubble do so much more than that. They become invested in your project and bring ideas to the table.
Matthew Look, Managing Director, Dura Performance
